It’s been quite a while since I last updated this blog. This month has felt like a roller coaster ride. I started a new job as an Android developer, got blocked by a former friend, and hosted a Meetup event. July 2024 has already brought me a lot of emotional ups and downs, making it a truly memorable month.
New Android developer job:
My dream has finally come true. Nearly two years ago, I began building my own Android portfolio, hoping that one day I could turn it into a professional career. Starting as a backend Java developer, my skills in the programming language have shaped my new path. My deep interest in Android development, combined with my Java expertise, has led me to become an Android app developer.
Since my new employer is headquartered in Kyoto, I spent July 4th and 5th there for new employee training. Some of my colleagues recommended exploring the city as a tourist after the training, but I decided to head back home as soon as possible.
Being blocked by her:
I was devastated by my crush. It felt like a tragedy, and I didn’t think I could overcome it, but I did. I thought I couldn’t survive, but my interest in her was slowly fading without me even realizing it. One day, I sent her a message revealing my honest thoughts about our friendship-like relationship. I even mentioned how she didn’t check on me during my most challenging time three years ago when I was suffering from COVID and mourning the loss of my dad.
She apologized, saying she couldn’t be a positive connection for me. I’m not sure if I can fully forgive her.
A meetup event in Enoshima (again):
I successfully hosted another meetup on Enoshima Island. This time, we went in the evening and stayed until night. From the observation deck, we enjoyed the calm ocean and the sound of the waves. Luckily, everyone who came was really nice. My sense of humor made everyone laugh, and we exchanged kindness. One of them even sent me a thank-you letter afterward. It was a really great experience for me.
Conclusion:
July 2024 was full of ups and downs, and this will likely continue for the next few months until I fully settle into my new job. Life is a journey, and it can be quite challenging. But remember, if you don’t embrace your challenges, you won’t fully enjoy life.
