Canvas of Dreams: A New Direction with Android

A new direction again? What’s happening?

We need to talk. Earlier last month, I announced that this blog would shift focus to essays and photography, moving away from tech tutorials.

However, a lot has changed in the past month. As I’ve mentioned in recent posts, my career has transitioned to Android development. With this significant change, my perspectives have evolved. Initially, I considered separating tech tutorials from this blog and starting a new tech-focused blog to migrate tech posts.

I’ve decided to retract that announcement and instead move forward with a tech blog that heavily focuses on Android development.

I understand that this blog began as a photography blog and later became a space for sharing my thoughts through essays. But with the recent changes that have revitalized my career, I believe this blog should better align with my interests and passions, which is Android.

So why Android?

That’s a good question. For me, Android is not just an operating system—it’s a phenomenon. In my tech universe, Android is an integral part, and without it, I can’t fully describe myself. As I wrote in my last post, Android programming has taught me not only about programming in general but also many fundamental aspects of OOP.

I’m also a huge fan of custom ROMs, such as LineageOS and Pixel Experience. Installing ROMs on old Android devices I bought from second-hand shops was not just exciting but also educational. The ability to breathe new life into old devices by installing custom ROMs is like a dream come true for tech enthusiasts like myself. Opening bootloaders with Linux-like commands made me feel like a professional hacker. These technical aspects of Android have made me fall in love with this fascinating OS.

As an Android user for more than a decade, I’ve owned a fair share of Android devices. These years with Android have greatly shaped my tech journey.

My interactions with various OEMs and their versions of Android skins from Google, Samsung, Huawei, Asus, Motorola, and LG have profoundly influenced my tech life.

Recently, I realized that I can’t even write posts without mentioning Android. Given how much I’ve already discussed Android on my blog, I decided it’s time to fully focus on Android from this point onward.

Without Android, I can’t fully define myself.

What about essays and photography?

Don’t worry; I’ll continue posting essays and photo journals. Writing and photography are passions of mine, so these posts will still appear. However, as this blog shifts its focus to Android-related content, including gadget reviews and programming, essays and photo journals will become less prominent.

Cost-related reason:

Another reason I decided not to start a new tech-focused blog is cost-related. I don’t think it’s financially reasonable to rent another server, especially given the current devaluation of the yen.

I considered renting a server on Linode, but since its prices are listed in USD, it discouraged me from doing so. In fact, I have already rented a server on Linode for Android app development.

Android is the star of the show:

All in all, as I have described on the About page, this blog has always focused on Android and always will. Android is the star of the show, and one of my life’s missions is to share my passion for Android with the world.

For me, Android is not just a mobile OS—it’s a phenomenon, a beauty, and a religion. I practice Android, and I love everything Google.

Android all the way!
