I don’t need external assistance for the time being (maybe):
Ever since the events of two years ago, I’ve been attending online counseling sessions intermittently. I’ve come to rely somewhat on these sessions for maintaining my mental health balance.
However, following my last session on Saturday, I had a moment of reflection. I realized that perhaps I don’t need another session for a while. What I really need to focus on are my personal goals – completing my coding projects, earning Linux certifications, finding the opportunity to date someone special, among other things on my list.
The issue I’ve identified is my reliance on external factors. I was looking for answers elsewhere, but the truth is, I already know what they are. I understand what I need to do and what is required to achieve my own version of happiness and fulfillment.
To reach these goals, I don’t think another counseling session is necessary; rather, what’s needed is action. Thankfully, I made significant progress in my Java programming self-study today.
I arrived at this conclusion after realizing that my recent conversation with my therapist wasn’t as enlightening as I had hoped. Instead, it served as a reminder of an important fact: essentially, I am on my own journey. For the time being, I don’t need external assistance; what I require is to focus on my own actions and decisions.
Great outings:
Yesterday (January 27th), I attended a meetup group in a neighboring town and had enriching conversations with my friends there. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I truly appreciated their warmth and the homely atmosphere. I definitely plan to return to the meetup next month.
Today, I visited an Indonesian restaurant with my Malaysian friend. The food was so spicy that I was sweating profusely, and a waitress (possibly the shop owner) checked in to see if I was okay with the spice level. She was kind and considerate, and I really appreciated her friendliness.
The conversation I had with my friend was genuinely exciting. We discussed a wide range of topics: politics, societal structures, technology, philosophy, academia, and much more. Wow, what a fantastic Sunday it was!
I’m grateful to everyone who made my day so much happier.
