My Kansai Region Travel

“I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.”
― Oscar Wilde, The Importance of Being Earnest

Overall, my October travel to the Kansai region, including Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, was amazing and refreshing. As I mentioned in previous posts, I’ve already traveled across Osaka back in May. So, my main focus of this time was socializing with my friend who newly moved to the city all the way from Germany with his wife. We walked around the city and ate Kushikatsu together. I had a lot of fun!

And the third day was the busiest. Having been to Kyoto, which is only thirty minutes away from Osaka by train, I have visited three major sightseeing spots, of which my visit to Kiyomizu-dera Temple turned out unfortunate… But it was a great experience to breathe the tradition in the old capital.

And that evening, I was in Kobe, which is also thirty minutes ride by train from Osaka. Even though it was my first time visiting the port city, I somewhat felt a sense of familiarity. Maybe it is because the city has some similarities with my hometown, Yokohama. Meriken Park was an amusing place for oceanic view with some drinks. Nakinmachi was a charming Chinatown.

All in all, my travel to Kansai’s major cities was amusing and great for my photography. Hope I can go back to the area again in the near future!
