“Everyone has talent. What’s rare is the courage to follow it to the dark places where it leads.”
― Erica Jong
Hidden in the backstreet of the west side of Shinjuku, Omoide Yokocho has been attracting not only locals after a hard day of work but also foreign tourists who want to enjoy the authentic Japanese night ambiance. Lantern lights and smokescreen make the alley look nostalgic and dramatic. When I had visited the alley last year, it was daytime. But it was so much better when I visited at night.
Additionally, you can enjoy all sorts of Japanese food, including grilled skewers, fresh oysters, beef, noodles and everything between. It is an awesome place to start your special evening with the movie-set-like occasion.
