Just a stone’s throw away from Shibuya Station, there is the ramshackle street, called Nonbei Yokocho aka “Drunkard’s Alley”. Hidden in the back streets, the alley is a collection of kiosk-sized yakitori shops and similar eateries. The early-1950s-style street gives you a glimpse into what it looked like living in Tokyo dating back to half a century ago.
As a matter of fact, the alley has been overlooked even by Tokyo residents. And that is because there was no information online about it.
