Hiroshima Castle

“If you don’t know history, then you don’t know anything. You are a leaf that doesn’t know it is part of a tree. ”

― Michael Crichton

Hiroshima Castle, also known as Carp Castle, is a castle in Hiroshima, originally built in the 1590s, but was destroyed by the atomic bombing on August 6, 1945. What we see today, therefore, is a replica of the original, which was built in 1958, serving as a museum of the city’s rich history prior to the second world war. When I visited the city last year in May, I, unfortunately, couldn’t capture the castle because my Canon DSLR was running out of power. I think I spent too much time around the peace memorial park and Itsukushima Island, capturing a huge amount of photos. This time, however, I was able to capture some photos inside and outside of the castle.
