It has been a month and a week since I started working in Louisiana. Though it was not my first time living in the United States, everything I have experienced so far in Louisiana has been fresh and stimulating, especially professional relationships with locally-hired Americans. Even though I had tons of interactions with Americans during my stay in Wisconsin back in eight years ago as well as with my American friends in the greater Tokyo region in Japan, my current relationships with Americans whom I work with is a whole new experience. Having said that, it is mainly because of this unique environment where the Japanese and Americans are working together side by side. English and Japanese words are swirling around my office, and such occasion makes our office very international and stimulating. Despite our cultural differences, we are one team striving to achieve the same goal. My life here in the south has just started. Let’s see what the future holds…
