Chinese Spring Festival in Yokohama Chinatown

“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.”
― Marc Riboud

On February 4th, 2017, I joined a photography meetup to capture the moments of festive Chinatown, Yokohama. Despite the fact that I’ve been living in the city for more than 20 years, I haven’t seen the Chinese New Year Festival in real life until that day. During the annual celebration, I was overwhelmed with the constant burst of fire crackers, and traditional performances with cymbals, drums, and Chinese gongs along with Chinese lions and dragons dancing around the Chinatown.
